The project is almost done and I decided to close a circle.

This image was taken in the same place and with the same subject as the Black and White Tale #1. Around 35 years between the 2 images and a lot of similarities and differences!

It’s not just that I’m an old dinosaur…

I had been asked many times why I still use film for some of my projects. Sometime the fact that I’m an old dinosaur was implied, but is not just that.

The fact is that I really like film photography for many reasons and not just for the better aesthetic for some situations.

Here my main ten reasons, you can read just the titles or you can open the video below and hear the complete explanation I give:

It’s simple
Better learning curve
More control
Film means reality
Visible without tools
Variety of formats and cameras
Aesthetic
Value
It’s a slow process
It’s analogue!

Finally after the COVID jail I took some days of vacation. I was in Numana, in the Marche region in Italy. Beautiful place.

Best part of the vacation was to see that people are having enough of all the stupidity of the Italian government and the Covid BS used to enslave us. That was really positive!

What to do during COVID Jail?

We are all in the same situation, all round the world, we are stuck in our houses with a lot of time available.

This is a great moment to improve ourselves and our skills.

I see around me a lot of posting about cameras and photographic techniques so I decided to do something a little different.

The concept is easy, with what you have available in the tranquillity of your home or inside the border of your COVID jail, you can do this exercises to try new approaches, or relive forgotten ones, to photography.

A little tale and some considerations about Corona Virus in Italy.

Many friends from the USA asked me about how I’m dealing with the COVID-19 and how is the situation in Italy, so I chose a print that expressed how I’m used to deal with situations limiting my freedom of movement.

A lot change since I made the video, so I will try to do a daily update of the situation. I will keep this out of the Black and White Tale project to not infect it with the virus and the total craziness going on in Italy right now.

A good photograph is not just an image, it also needs to be taken with some ethical principles.

“Urbex”, an ugly label shortening Urban Exploration, must be done following good practices with respect for people and their properties.

Here a little story about ethic and friendship.

This image won an Honorable Mention at the 14th Black and White Spider Awards in 2019.
