This week I chose the print to express all my discomfort and rage. When we are facing communist destroyers, to react with beauty is not enough. I felt the need to express myself clearly. I’m pissed. I’m pissed at the ignorance in the world. I’m pissed at the people destroying symbols of freedom. I’m pissed at people destroying monuments and culture. I’m pissed at the silent people giving power to the destroying force of ignorance. I’m pissed at the people accepting with cowardice ignoble requests made with violence. We accepted without reacting properly when the Taliban destroyed the Bamiyan Buddhas. I was pissed then, and I’m pissed now that the same mentality is doing the same thing here. I’m pissed at people pretending I have an original sin just because they say so. Let me be clear: I do not accept the concept of an original sin and I do not support any group that uses violence and destroys the beauty in the world. . . . In front of this there is only a phrase coming to my mind: “Who is John Galt?” .
There are moments in history when we must very carefully chose our heroes. We have to be careful to not transform victims in heroes and vice-versa. Victims need to have justice, but heroes deserve to be remembered and be honored as examples for our lives. hero:1. a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. victim:1. a person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action. If we confuse the terms and forget the values that make a person a hero, we will have more and more victims. To have no victims we need real heroes to follow. . . . If you want to read the great story of Placid Lassie, take a look at the Tunison Foundation website. See you next time! .
8th week of Covid jail in Italy, this time, over the image of a pier wall in Giulianova Lido, I wonder about freedom versus safety. . . . See you next week and in the meantime think about what you are ready to give up for some safety. And let me know! .
In the 7th week of Italian Covid lock-down, it is the 75th anniversary of the Italian Liberation from the dictatorships that brought us to WWII. While now other “leaders”, following the same socialist philosophy, are establishing a new dictatorship all over Europe with the excuse of a virus and the help of bureaucratic non elected worldwide organizations, I decided to homage the real people that freed us. I hope they will do it again, because Europeans are demonstrating one more time to be just sheep ready to lose all their freedom for the impossible promise of safety. Sadly the people’s memory seems to be very short, the same mistakes are going to be repeated and the trust is wrongly given to the fascists that, wearing now a red shirt, rewrote history. Personally I have only one creed: Live free or die! . . . …to the next week!
A little tale and some considerations about Corona Virus in Italy. Many friends from the USA asked me about how I’m dealing with the COVID-19 and how is the situation in Italy, so I chose a print that expressed how I’m used to deal with situations limiting my freedom of movement. . . . Follow me here on the blog if you like to have some first hand updates about the Corona virus in Italy. . UPDATE ABOUT CORONAVIRUS IN ITALY – 8th of March 2020 A lot change since I made the video, so I will try to do a daily update of the situation. I will keep this out of the Black and White Tale project to not infect it with the virus and the total craziness going on in Italy right now. .
I was reading a book few weeks ago, the main character was describing his grandfather and he wrote that his grandpa was used to say he had to get naked to count up to 21.So I arrived at print number 6 and decided to start to use the sign language to enumerate my prints before I was out of fingers! YouTube and FaceBook policies could be pretty restrictive about people counting up to 21. Now that you know you are ready to watch the video! . . . If you like to know more about the history of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution an political philosophy, one of the great sources to start is the Hillsdale College. See you next week!
Another year is almost gone and is time again to evaluate if I was a naughty or nice boy. Calm down your expectations… I will not tell here in public the personal aspects of my life and all my sins, but only the photographic part! Anyway… Santa was pretty good with me so I think I didn’t do too bad also on the non photographic aspects of my life. In a year a lot changed. I had some plans I had to postpone for reasons out of my control, but despite all I managed to do something I’m proud of. Steps toward my goals and great professional satisfactions. I took some pictures that really satisfy me, even after months, reaching the end of the year, I look at them and I feel the same emotions I felt taking them. First of all I had the opportunity to discover Levico, a city with thermal springs known from the ancient times. I knew it in name because my great grandparents were used to go there in the 1930s to take care of my great grandfather diabetes and have some vacation. At that time 500 kilometers were not an easy trip and they […]
